The four musicians of the Amicis Quartet are passionate artists who have honed their skills under internationally renowned teachers at conservatoires in Tours, Strasbourg, and Paris, as well as at the prestigious music academies of Berlin and Stuttgart.

They first met during collaborative projects with the Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra and at summer festivals, including Les Murs ont des Oreilles in France.

To refine their ensemble playing, the members of the Amicis Quartett have participated in courses and masterclasses with Peter Buck, cellist of the celebrated Melos Quartet, as well as with members of the Mandelring, Vogler, and Manfred quartets. These mentors have shared their wealth of experience and passion for this distinctive musical ensemble.

The quartet’s musicians have performed for several years with various orchestras, such as the Strasbourg Philharmonic, the Orchestre National de Metz, the Baden-Baden Philharmonic, the Stuttgart Opera, and the Pforzheim Opera.

They are also actively engaged in teaching in Strasbourg, Stuttgart, and Landau.

Together, they contribute to promoting the string quartet repertoire in France and Germany, particularly in the Grand Est, Poitou-Charentes, Baden-Württemberg, and Rhineland-Palatinate regions.

More recently, they have begun performing internationally, appearing at festivals in Turkey and Switzerland.

Their repertoire includes works by Borodin, Brahms, Debussy, Dvořák, Fauré, Grieg, Komitas, Mendelssohn, Pärt, Ravel and Schubert and it continues to expand. They are particularly devoted to French impressionist music by Fauré, Debussy and Ravel.
